It's a legit crazy world right now.
I honestly don't have the energy to recap it all—pandemic +protests. It's a lot. Change is happening, but also a lot of pain is happening as well. I was working with a coach, and she summarized it perfectly. Even in the worst of times, there is still a silver lining. As a Black woman in this environment, it's been challenging to find that silver lining. I've been able to, and the shift in perspective has helped tremendously.
One silver lining has been in my businesses. I've been blessed with colleagues and coaches who've reinforced the mindset that wealth, legacy, and purpose are all acts of revolution. As a service-based business, showing up to serve in this time is not in bad taste, it's necessary.
During this quarantine, I've learned a lot. It was weird at first -- and honestly, it still is at times. What I do know is when I was writing my intentions, vision, and grand ideas back in January (when COVID was lurking like a creeper) -- 2020 was going to be a big year for me. I was able to reflect a bit when visiting my parents for Father's Day. I always get my best thinking at their house because I'm not distracted by my stuff -- or Apple TV :)
2020 is still my year. In fact, it never stopped being my year.
I've taken a few luxury vacations (I LOVE to travel)
I completed my yoga teacher certification and registered with yoga alliance
I'm still serving clients and legit working with "vision board" clients
I secured the role I've wanted at my day job -- I love my 9-5 (most days lol)
I've been paying down debt and increasing my credit score (#newcreditscorewhodis?!)
I've launched new passion products, just because -- affirmation cards anyone?
I've been working on my personal development with dream coaches & mentors.
So what does this mean?
2020 is still going strong, and it's still your year too. I don't care if you want to read 20 books, meditate 5min a day, launch a new product/service, or get up every day with a positive mindset to match. Do it. If I've learned anything these past few weeks, it's that life truly is precious. I don't want to maximize every moment I live with stuff and things to do. But I do want to maximize the time, choosing joy, and doing what I love. Whether that's supporting my clients, practicing my yoga, or trying to recreate Tabitha's vegan meals. I'm showing up for the rest of 2020 and showing out.
I invite you to join me. Seriously, let's do this.
